Nick shares the wisdom of Director and Writer Robert Broadhurst and expounds upon Robert's quote, “It’s really hard to make art, to begin with, it’s even harder if you can’t pay your bills doing it."
About Robert Broadhurst
Before directing, my work as an editor spanned Emmy-nominated television, documentary film, and commercials, including work for Adidas, Apple, Google, Nike, Balmain, DKNY, H&M, Alexander Wang and Equinox. I worked on Kanye West’s first three Yeezy launches, first as an editor and finally as livestream creative director for the Clio-winning Yeezy Season 3 / Life of Pablo broadcast from Madison Square Garden.
My work as a creative editor evolved naturally into more involved creative roles until I started directing, with campaign films for Adidas Y-3.
I recently directed a brand film for the European launch of the HONOR Series 20 smartphone by Huawei, and my first beauty campaign for Armani Beauty.
AN OCCURRENCE AT ARVERNE, my first short film as writer-director, debuted online as a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere, played 30+ festivals and got a 2021 Webby Award.
